the designer
I'm Valerio, and I grew up surrounded by the scent of leather and the rhythmic sounds of my family's workshop, where my father meticulously crafted each piece. From a young age, I understood that this was my path: to combine creativity and tradition to transform leather into something that endures.
For me, craftsmanship is about this: time, attention, respect. It's not about chasing trends, but about building bags that truly accompany the lives of those who carry them. Every day, when I enter the workshop, I know that my job is to give form to objects that have soul, and that speak of those who created them and those who will choose them.

the brand
Farenella was born from my passion, the one I've carried within me forever. This brand is designed for those who are looking for an accessory that is more than just a simple bag: a travel companion, always ready to accompany you everywhere, with style and character.
If you choose Farenella, you choose to express yourself, to never settle, and to carry a piece of my story with you, handmade with passion.

the story behind the brand
My passion for handbags was handed down to me by my father Gennaro, who taught me the secrets of this wonderful art that allows you to transform a piece of leather into a dream. In the family workshop, where leather bags and accessories were produced, I grew professionally, always seeking new ideas but with an eye on the great tradition of Neapolitan leather goods.
That workshop was the source of my inspiration for creating new bags: the smell of leather, the colors of the hides, the sound of sewing machines, the meticulous attention to every detail.
My father taught me everything: from the value of quality to the patience of handmade work. He instilled in me a love for authentic craftsmanship, one that doesn't stop at trends but aims to create pieces meant to last. That's where it all began.

Origin of the name FARENELLA
But why "Farenella"?
The story is amusing, but absolutely true.
At eighteen, I started working making bags. It immediately
became a passion that allowed me to get to know the female world and look at it from another perspective.
I was always surrounded by female friends who would ask me for bags or accessories, so my friends started teasing me and gave me a nickname, because yes, in Naples it's like this: "if I love you, I have to give you a nickname."
'O FARENELL, that's what they called me.
Fareniello, in popular Neapolitan slang, is a
person who overdoes certain behaviors: in fawning, in being an uninhibited dandy, a ladies' man.
That's where the name of my brand comes from, a tribute to the scugnizzo (street urchin) I was when I started and to the love I still have for the female universe.
