the designer
I'm Valerio, and I grew up surrounded by the scent of leather and the rhythmic sounds of my family's workshop, where my father meticulously crafted each piece. From a young age, I understood that this was my path: to combine creativity and tradition to transform leather into something that endures.
For me, craftsmanship is about this: time, attention, respect. It's not about chasing trends, but about building bags that truly accompany the lives of those who carry them. Every day, when I enter the workshop, I know that my job is to give form to objects that have soul, and that speak of those who created them and those who will choose them.

the brand
Farenella was born from my passion, the one I have always carried inside me. This brand is designed for those looking for an accessory that is more than just a bag: a travel companion, always ready to accompany you everywhere, with style and character.
If you choose Farenella, you choose to express yourself, to never settle and to bring with you a piece of my history, handmade with passion.

the story behind the brand
My passion for bags comes from my father Gennaro and the professional and personal growth I had in the family factory, a factory of leather bags and accessories.
Growing up in that laboratory was like living an art daily: the smell of leather, the noise of the machines, the meticulous attention to every detail.
My father taught me everything, from the value of quality to the patience of a hand-made job. He passed on to me the love for authentic craftsmanship, the kind that doesn't stop at fashion, but aims to create pieces that will last. That's where it all started.

Origins of the name FARENELLA
But why “Farenella”?
The story is funny but very true.
At eighteen I started working making bags. It immediately became a passion that gave me the opportunity to experience the female world. So as it usually happens in Naples they wanted to give me a nickname, so they choose O' Farenell. It is a street name for people who want to be always pleasent to women and put the flour on their face like the theatre actors who appear always young.
'O FARENELL, that's what they called me and that's where the name of my brand comes from, a tribute to the urchin I was when I started and to the love I still have for the female universe.
